Happy Fall!

Don't you just love the colors of fall? This just has to be my most favorite time of the year! The sky is blue, the mornings are crisp, and the sunsets are beautiful. Harvest time. Baking aromas of cinnamon and spice. Last week I went to pick apples at a friend's house so I will be coming up with ways to use the apples. Today I was inspired to bake an apple cake using a recipe from my Aunt Hilda. Her recipe is the most delicious apple cake I've ever tasted. I took a picture of the finished product. We will sample it this weekend.

Fall is my favorite season too. This year I was so inspired by the scents of cinnamon and other spices that I created my own cake recipe. It turned out very well. It's very moist which is something I like in a cake. If you would like, I can send the recipe to you for you try.

Oh, Mom! You should've told me you made cake! I would've been home in a heartbeat! I love to hear about what you're cooking, and that's the simplest way to entice me into a visit. ;-)

You know I love fall colors, too. I took some pictures you might like the other day and put them on my Flickr:

Sorry I couldn't come home this weekend. This next weekend is fall break and I will definitely be coming home.
